Meisen is a plain woven silk fabric and they
from Taisho to the beginning of Showa Eras (1912 to 1960¡Çs.)
There are three steps to make Meisen: 1)Roughly weave
the warp and weft together to make temporary silk fabric
2)Dye this silk with patterns 3)Pull weft and weave
then, Meisen appeared as a silk fabric.
Meisen which adopted novel in its designs
and began using patterns of Western cultural motif,
flowers and geometrical patterns on its fabric is
a symbol of originalities of Taisho and early Showa Eras,
it was also at the time of changing from Art Nouveau to Art Deco.
