■ What is LOTTA vintage meisen"銘仙" kimono
銘仙とは大正、昭和初期に流行した平織りの絹織物です。
仮織りした糸に型紙を用い、捺染し、
本織りをする技法がもととなっています。アール・ヌーヴォーからアール・デコへと変化した時代に、
西洋文化のモチーフや花、幾何学の図柄などの
デザインを斬新に取り入れた銘仙は、
大正、昭和時代のデザイン象徴でもあります。
Meisen is a plain woven silk fabric and they
from Taisho to the beginning of Showa Eras (1912 to 1960’s.)
There are three steps to make Meisen: 1)Roughly weave
the warp and weft together to make temporary silk fabric
2)Dye this silk with patterns 3)Pull weft and weave
then, Meisen appeared as a silk fabric.
Meisen which adopted novel in its designs
and began using patterns of Western cultural motif,
flowers and geometrical patterns on its fabric is
a symbol of originalities of Taisho and early Showa Eras,
it was also at the time of changing from Art Nouveau to Art Deco.

息を吹き返すように洗い、色柄を活かしたデザインで、
着物からバッグへ創作活動をしているブランドです。
